Member Requirements

The membership of the Southern Seminary Foundation is comprised of Directors and Ambassadors.

The Directors of the foundation:

  • donate at least $5,000 a year to the seminary
  • or have contributed a total of $20,000 to the Annual Fund
  • or help raise $15,000 a year for the Annual Fund
  • or have fully funded an endowed chair for $1,000,000.

The Directors also work diligently to add to Southern Seminary's endowment. Directors attend the semiannual retreat at their own expense and also strive to bring persons to campus during the fall meeting held in conjunction with Heritage Week.

The Ambassadors of the foundation:

  • donate at least $1,000 a year
  • or have contributed a total of $20,000 to the Annual Fund
  • or help raise $10,000 a year for the Annual Fund.

Ambassadors may attend the annual spring retreat at their own expense. Like the Directors, Ambassadors also strive to bring persons to campus during the fall meeting held in conjunction with Heritage Week.

The role of all Southern Seminary Foundation Board Members include:

  • sharing information about the seminary's needs and opportunities with potential donors,
  • introducing seminary administration and staff to potential donors,
  • sponsoring luncheons or dinners with community persons who have the potential to support the seminary,
  • encouraging persons to consider Southern Seminary for theological training,
  • inviting persons to campus to receive first-hand information about the seminary,
  • considering making the seminary part of their own personal estate plan,
  • and promoting the financial support of the seminary.
