The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary is an authorized institution to process Veterans’ Education Benefits (G.I. Bill®) to eligible students.
How to apply for the G.I. Bill® and related benefits ?

Southern Seminary participates in receiving benefits under the following chapters from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs:
30 – Montgomery G.I. Bill® – Active Duty
31 – Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E)
35 – Dependents Educational Assistance program, or DEA
1606 – Montgomery GI Bill Selected Reserve (MGIB-SR) | Veterans Affairs

Required each semester: SBTS Veteran Certification Request Form
Students utilizing VA Educational Benefits must fill out the following form each semester they are enrolled in order to continue receiving VA benefits:
- SBTS Veteran Certification Request Form (must be submitted each semester**)
**We highly recommend submitting the Veteran Certification Request Form at least one month prior to the opening of billing in order to receive tuition benefits prior to the payment due date. Please allow for at least two weeks processing from the time your request is submitted to the Financial Aid Office when submitted less than 1 month prior to the start of classes.
Recommended Deadlines:
- Fall Term – June 15th
- Winter Term – November 15th
- Spring Term – December 15th
- Summer Term – April 15th
