Logos FAQ for Students
At Southern Seminary, we believe your focus should be fully on learning and preparing for ministry, not on tracking down textbooks or managing extra costs. By combining Logos Inclusive Access with Logos Max, we remove these barriers and equip you for research, sermon preparation, teaching, counseling, and more, setting you up to succeed in seminary and beyond.
Logos Inclusive Access will be available for courses beginning in Fall 2025. Additionally, the Logos Max subscription for eligible students will begin on August 1, 2025.
Logos Inclusive Access means that most required textbooks for your courses are provided digitally through Logos. Once your course is published, you’ll have immediate daily access to these textbooks. After the official add/drop date, these digital textbooks become permanently yours in your Logos library.
All masters level courses (both core courses and electives) will have textbooks delivered through Logos. This includes all modalities such as on-campus, online, and modular courses.
Any student enrolled in a master’s-level course at Southern Seminary is eligible to receive textbooks through Logos Inclusive Access. This includes Seminary Track students or students in other enrollment categories when taking master’s-level courses. If you’re enrolled in a master’s course, your required textbooks will be provided digitally through Logos.
Logos Max is Logos’s highest subscription tier offering their full feature set, including extensive datasets and specialized resources for sermon preparation, teaching, original language study, commentary research, preaching resources, and more. Learn more about Logos Max here.
You have full access to Logos Max as long as you’re considered an active student. An active student is defined specifically for the Logos Max subscription as someone who has taken a master’s-level course for credit within the past 32 weeks (approximately three academic terms).
If you haven’t enrolled in a master’s-level course for credit within this timeframe, your Logos Max subscription will pause until you enroll again in a master’s-level course for credit. Upon graduation, your account transitions to legacy status (giving you many continued benefits), or you may choose to subscribe directly through Logos to continue accessing premium services. Note: As stated above, you will retain all your textbooks.
Yes. Every textbook provided to you through Inclusive Access remains yours permanently, even after you graduate.
Textbooks through Logos are automatically provided to every student as part of enrollment at Southern Seminary. There are no additional per-course costs.
No. All your courses can be completed without directly using Logos. You’re welcome and encouraged to purchase physical copies if that better suits your needs or preferences. Regardless of how you approach your studies, the digital versions provided through Logos remain yours permanently. We see this as offering the best of both worlds, allowing you flexibility without extra expense.
If a required textbook cannot be included digitally due to publisher agreements, we will notify you in advance so you can purchase it separately before the course begins. Our ongoing relationship with Logos ensures we are informed early if a resource cannot be included.
If you already have a Logos account, the textbooks provided through Inclusive Access will integrate seamlessly into your existing account, keeping your resources consolidated and accessible.
At the beginning of your enrollment, you’ll receive an email with clear instructions for setting up your Logos account, which typically takes just a few minutes.
Yes. Logos works across your phone, tablet, and computer, providing seamless access to your textbooks wherever you are.
No. Logos Inclusive Access is provided only for courses starting in Fall 2025 and beyond. It is not retroactive, meaning textbooks for courses you have previously completed will not be added to your Logos account. Access begins with the courses you’re enrolled in starting Fall 2025 and continues forward for all subsequent eligible courses.
