A ministry field essay must accompany every application for admission to Southern Seminary’s professional doctoral studies. See below for essay information and guidelines including a sample grading rubric and the essay prompt.
To begin, download the field essay prompt below. Be sure to follow these instructions carefully. Submit your completed essay to the Admissions Office via email at admissions@sbts.edu with your name and “Professional Doctoral Studies Field Essay” in the subject line.
Ministry field essays will be evaluated using the Field Essay Assessment Rubric.
