Bulldog-with-typeLOUISVILLE, Ky. (SBTS) — Boyce College, the undergraduate school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, will host and live-stream the NCCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Mideast Regional basketball tournaments, Feb. 25-27. It marks the first time Boyce has hosted a postseason tournament.

Boyce College will join Crown College, Johnson University, Kentucky Christian University, Piedmont International University, and Welch College in the men’s tournament. The women’s tournament will feature Johnson University, Kentucky Christian University, University of Valley Forge, and Welch College.

Boyce head coach Blake Rogers says he hopes hosting the tournament will increase the Bulldogs’ chances of advancing to the national tournament.

“In college basketball home court advantage is great, especially when you have such great fans like we do. We have to best fans at our level,” Rogers said. “Knowing that we will have that at the regional tournament is great for us. I am excited for our guys’ chances this year.”

Boyce College began its NCCAA-affiliated basketball program in 2006. The school also added a men’s soccer program in 2015, which also competes in the Mideast Region of NCCAA Division II.

The men’s tournament will begin Feb. 25 followed by the start of the women’s tournament Feb. 26. Both championship games will be played Feb. 27. All tournament games can be viewed via live stream at www.boycecollege.com/live. Seeding will be announced prior to the start of the tournaments.
