Beginning this fall, all master’s-level students at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary will receive their required course textbooks and full access to Logos Max, the highest-tier version of Logos, included in the cost of tuition. This partnership with Logos reflects a significant investment in students, simplifying access to course materials so they can concentrate on what matters most: growing in readiness for ministry.
“Southern Seminary exists to prepare students for a lifetime of faithfulness in ministry,” said R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. “This initiative reflects that very commitment. We want our students to begin every course fully equipped—not distracted by logistics, but devoted to the task of learning the truth, studying the Word, and preparing to teach it with conviction.”
With Logos Inclusive Access, all required textbooks for master’s-level courses—whether core or elective—are delivered digitally through Logos. These books are automatically available when the course is published, and since they are delivered at no extra cost, students have the freedom to purchase print or alternative formats, giving complete flexibility in their reading and studying preferences. After the add/drop date, the textbooks remain in the student’s Logos library permanently, becoming a lasting resource for future study, ministry preparation, and ongoing growth. This applies across the entire master’s curriculum.
Logos Max is the highest-tier subscription available from Logos, which includes resources valued at over $16,000. It includes everything in Logos Premium and Pro, plus access to the most comprehensive theological library available digitally, used by pastors, professors, and scholars worldwide. Logos Max includes more than 600 books, including commentaries, theological works, and ministry resources making it the most comprehensive theological library available digitally, used by pastors, professors, and scholars worldwide. It also gives you access to powerful tools such as original language study aids, sermon builders, and Mobile Ed video courses. These are the same resources trusted by Southern Seminary faculty.
With this partnership with Logos, students are equipped to do more than just read their textbooks. Whether they are parsing Greek, preparing a sermon, leading a Bible study, or completing class papers and projects, they will have the tools they need to study deeply and work efficiently. The platform supports robust biblical and theological research, helping students approach their assignments with clarity and confidence. And when students graduate, their Logos library stays with you as a lasting resource for ministry.
This move follows years of strategic investment in Southern Seminary’s online and residential course design. Every master’s-level course has been structured for clarity, theological depth, and accessibility, ensuring that students—whether on campus or online—are equipped to succeed.By Southern Seminary giving access to the tools and resources in Logos builds on that foundation, giving students not only the right structure and guidance but also the resources they need on day one.
It also strengthens the seminary’s long-standing commitment to affordability. Southern Seminary already offers one of the lowest total costs among peer institutions. With Logos Inclusive Access, that affordability becomes even more remarkable. By including required textbooks and premium software at no added cost, the initiative increases the value of every degree. Southern Seminary online students already save up to $1,000 per semester compared with similar institutions.
“At Southern Seminary, we believe that every student should have access to the best tools and resources as they prepare for a lifetime of faithful ministry,” said Provost Paul Akin. “That’s why we are committed to providing excellent, affordable digital resources that equip the next generation to serve Christ and His church, here and around the world.”
This benefit applies to any student enrolled in a master’s-level course, regardless of delivery method. As long as students remain actively enrolled, they retain access to Logos Max. Upon graduation, students receive a Logos Legacy license, allowing continued access to many software tools, and may choose to maintain a full Logos subscription independently. Students keep all digital textbooks for life for any course they have paid for.
Brian Renshaw, Vice President of Global Campus, helped shape the vision for the partnership and sees it as another step toward removing distractions and strengthening student support. “This partnership with Logos equips our students with world-class resources from day one, empowering them to succeed academically and thrive in ministry without worrying about additional costs or accessibility. We’re committed to removing barriers and providing everything students need to confidently pursue God’s calling in their lives.”
At Southern Seminary, our goal is simple. We want students to be fully equipped for faithful ministry without the barriers of cost or complexity. With Logos, you’ll spend less time searching for resources and more time mastering them. From the moment your course begins to the day you graduate and beyond, you’ll have immediate access to powerful tools, trusted resources, and a lifelong library designed to support your calling and ministry.
