Hundreds of prospective students flocked to campus excited to meet professors and experience student life for Boyce College and Southern Seminary’s Spring Preview Days. Boyce College hosted its annual Spring Preview Day on March 21, attracting 123 prospective students. The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary welcomed over a hundred students on April 12 from 25 states and several countries, the largest Southern Seminary Spring Preview Day crowd in five years.
“This semester’s Preview Days were two of the largest for Boyce College and Southern Seminary, but more than that they were filled with a renewed level of excitement,” Jeremy Pelton, VP for Enrollment Management, said. “We are seeing increased interest in theological education across the board and the Lord is bringing people from across the world.”
The events provided a comprehensive overview of the seminary’s programs, faculty, and campus life, giving attendees a glimpse into the transformative educational experience offered at Southern Seminary. Prospective students also heard exclusive faculty lectures and attended a live Q&A with President R. Albert Mohler Jr., tailored just for Preview Day attendees.
The Spring Preview Days are some of the most important events for connecting with future students.
“Preview Day is often the deciding factor for those who attend,” Pelton said. “About 60% of students who came to Boyce Preview Day said Boyce College was their first choice for college. But after Preview Day, that number jumped to 96%. We expect to see a similar ratio for Southern Seminary’s Preview Day once all of the surveys are completed. These events are crucial in clarifying to those in attendance that Boyce and Southern are where the Lord is calling them for training.”
For those who were unable to attend the Preview Day events, SBTS continues to offer prospective students opportunities to visit the campus, engage with faculty and students, and explore the seminary’s offerings. With a legacy of theological excellence spanning over 150 years, SBTS remains a premier destination for those seeking a transformative theological education rooted in the authority of Scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Prospective students are encouraged to visit the SBTS website or contact the admissions office directly for more information about upcoming Preview Day events or to schedule a campus visit.
