Shepherding Groups

Faculty members in the School of Theology serve as Faculty Shepherds to provide spiritual support and pastoral oversight for all students in the degree programs of the School of Theology.

Shepherding Groups provide an opportunity for prayer, development of relationships, encouragement and fellowship.

For all School of Theology students, participation in Shepherding Groups is fully voluntary. There is no penalty for choosing not to join, but we hope most students will experience the rich benefits of incorporating this ministry into their priorities and schedules. This is available for on-campus and online students.

A student’s agreement to participate assumes that, to the best of their ability, they will attend all group meetings, complete any assignments given by their faculty member, and attend social activities as planned.

In their own words

“One of the richest parts of seminary life can be times of prayer and mutual encouragement in groupings of student peers and with faculty members.”

Associate Dean
