Southern Seminary does not participate in Title IV funding involving loans or grants. We recommend these vendors that we exclusively work with for your student loans.

Tuition is calculated per-credit-hour, and your total cost will depend on how many classes you take, if you receive the SBC rate, and whether you are online or on-campus.
Students must first be admitted to Southern Seminary in order to apply for financial aid.
Admitted students may complete the College Board PROFILE before the financial aid deadline to be considered for a scholarship from Southern Seminary.

No. Southern Seminary does not participate in any federal or state student aid programs involving loans or grants. Financial Aid at Southern consists of Cooperative Program funding, scholarships awarded through endowed aid, and private loan opportunities. Therefore, it is not necessary for Southern Seminary students to complete the FAFSA.
While Southern is eligible to participate in federal loan and grant programs funded by Title IV, the institution chooses not to accept such funding in order to maintain independence from federal oversight.
All scholarships and loans will be applied to tuition accounts on the date that billing opens for the upcoming semester (one to two weeks before the start of term). Scholarships and loans received after the open of billing will be applied to student tuition accounts as they are received.
Students who have received an award letter from a scholarship organization should send a copy of the letter to the Financial Aid Office. After receiving the award letter, Financial Aid will put temporary credit on the student’s tuition account until the scholarship check arrives.
Southern Seminary is able to assist students in the loan deferment process for most federal and state educational loans received from previous institutions. Questions about loan deferments should be directed to the Academic Records Office.
SBTS scholarships are offered only to undergraduate and master’s-level students. Doctoral students are encouraged to research outside scholarship opportunities but are not eligible for institutional financial aid. General Information
- Tuition, fees, and on-campus room and board are included in the payment plan
- $30 nonrefundable enrollment fee per semester
- Payments are processed automatically on the 5th or the 20th of each month and will continue until the balance is paid in full
- If payment is returned by your bank or credit card company, there will be a $30 fee

Important information to note
- Do not assume that if you are enrolled in monthly payment plan that your balance will automatically be adjusted if financial aid is received or if a class is dropped or added
- To avoid late payments, please review your tuition account balance before the payment deadline
